OUR STORY
Vectortec serial number generator was first developed in 2005 as an answer to an increasing number of requests about traceability solutions from customers in manufacturing and process industries.
As serialised numbers became a large part of manufacturing traceability solutions the number of request for Vectortec’s serial number generator solution increased. Vectortec decided to form the technology in 2015 into a company as a reaction to customers need for a secure and redundant way to track and trace details and components’ journey through the supply and value chain.

When we hear about the concept of traceability we might think of a typically desk top product not
for any real use. Well think again – traceability really can make your life a lot easier!
1. Vectortec connect the machinery data with the product item data to enable detection, and the exact determination of the set of circumstances for when a deviance occurred or even started to occur. Without the correct machine data
traceability is just a finding of a characteristic, not a means to avoid future issues.
2. Different customers have different set up for data transactions and Vectortec uses all necessary and available data collection and data analysis conditions to set up the
traceability solution. Vectortec do not corner customers with brands for data collection that allows data flow only to their own solutions whether on premises, cloud or hybrid. All implementation and integration is very cost efficient using already existing or adjusted set up for data flows.
3. The value of traceability lies in different factors for different types of industries. For manufacturing the main value lies in the material characteristics determined by sample tests and the possibility to determine high end materials from low end consumer materials that might in turn imply counterfeit or that something went wrong in the processing of the material in the production process. For the food industry there are many standards like ISO 22000 and the newer ISO 22005-2007 but also the GS1 guidelines to determine the flow of materials, to track each stage of production, the coordination of actors involved, that each party be informed by its direct suppliers and customers and more. All to safeguard against any threats to food safety like food outbreak and to ensure the proper actions to recall products.
